On the bow

On Thursday the 18th of May, we held an Open Boat for our friends in the neighborhood “Empty Nesters” group. The group was meeting for our periodic dinner at the new Deck 383 restaurant at the marina, and we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show off our new boat.

We expected between 15-20 people but ended up with 37! The good news is that the boat didn’t sink! We stayed firmly tied to the dock, and I checked from time to time to make sure that we were not too far down in the water.

As it was a pre-dinner event, we served beer, wine, cheese, and fruit. It was a great time, and it warmed everyone up for dinner.

Thanks to all who attended! It was our boat’s unofficial christening and our first “docktails” event!
